Did not get room type requested. Tried to charge for two nights, though we only stayed one night. Tried to charge for items we had not had, we were made to feel very uncomfortable when we challanged the the errors on the bill.
The area was lovely . Right next to the river.
The room we has was not suitable as the double bed was pushed right up against a wall which meant that I had to climb out of bed over my husband. Having a bad knee that was difficult. If an elderly couple were staying in that room it would have been near impossible. Staff very rushed when we arrived. Calvery was left out all day and then the time we ate at 5.30 it was all too dry to eat!
Pleasant location and reasonable selection of menu items.
Response of staff was poor when explaining the things that were wrong. Second time I have stayed there and this time the room was much smaller and cramped, perhaps a rate differential should be applied.
Very good in house meal deals. Good food on menu. Informal and relaxed hotel.
Bathroom too small and looking tired.
The hotel was very nice with clean rooms & most of the staff were friendly some of the younger one's weren't as helpful
We thought the address was misleading as it said St Ives and it clearly is not anywhere near St Ives which was inconvenient as we had planned our trip around this.
All the food we sampled was excellent and very good value. The ground floor is very attractive: large and homely at the same time, being subdivided in a variety of ways into different areas, each with several interesting features.
The room (number 4) could do with minor maintenance: the roller blind in the en-suite unrolls to disclose a couple of dead flies, and 1 of the 2 spotlights had failed.
The location is stunning, the staff very helpful and relaxed, the beer, view and the food
We liked the room, though there was a problem with locking the door when exiting the room which we were unable to get corrected during our 3 days' stay, and we liked the ambiance of this historic pub with rooms.
Great typical english country pub with great staff.
This is a really nice pub/hotel next to river, boats moor up for dinner. A nice place to relax after i had finished work. Good food and friendly staff. Obviously popular with the locals as place was heaving for dinner service.
The pub was friendly and the service was good. An enjoyable breakfast/ The room was nice but the bathroom facilities extremely small and cramped but clean.
The hotel advertised a right royal knees up at it was the royal wedding. It was anything but. The music (bands) were a poor choice and did nothing to get the revellers interested. In fact several people came in for the party and left within 30 minutes disappointed. The staff were not intereseted in this function. it was also disappointing that the bar closed at 11pm and the residents had nowhere to go aprt from their rooms as the pub was locked up. This needs to be addressed.
A lovely quaint old Inn in the heart of the British countryside with the river a few steps away. Perfect for people who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life. Super food and beer - all in all a very enjoyable experience, we will definately return.
The riverside setting
Refused the first room we were given. The toilet did not fill, the tiles around the shower were covered in mould and the room key did not work. The 2nd room was better but extremely small. Greene King should be ashamed to offer guests rooms that need refurbishing.
Terrific location by the river and easy access to Ely and Cambridge.Old world charm.Great friendliness and helpfulness from the staff. Thoroughly enjoyed the 2 day stay and have recommended the pub to our friends.
Such s welcoming place in a beautiful location, overlooks a waterway Beautiful historic building with lovely open fires
Sound of central heating/plumbing
